Grandmommy's Buttons

These pieces are inspired by a collection, decades in the making, of my grandmother’s buttons. Hundreds of interesting patterns and shapes, ranging from cloth roses from my mother’s and aunts’ dresses to military eagles from my grandfather’s uniforms. To me these buttons tell a special story, therefore I decided to save them in clay and turn the story into more than just buttons.
